Last February, the Federal Government introduced Bill C-68, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and other Acts in consequence. This Act includes proposed amendments to restore protections and incorporate safeguards to the Fisheries Act that had been removed by the Harper government. An analysis of this Bill by CSEB British Columbia Director Sean Mitchell is available on page 16 of the CSEB Bulletin, Spring 2018. The Canadian Society of Environmental Biologists has expressed its support for Bill C68 in a letter to the federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.
