A discussion paper on the creation of a CANADA WATER AGENCY was released by the federal government on December 17th, 2020: “Toward the Creation of a Canada Water Agency”. Environment and Climate Change Canada is hosting a series of webinars to open a discussion about the creation of the Canada Water Agency. A national forum was held on January 27th, with regional discussions to be held as follows:
- Feb 2nd – Atlantic
- Feb 4th – Quebec
- Feb. 9th – Ontario
- Feb. 11th – the North
- Feb. 16th – British Columbia
- Feb. 18th – Prairies
It is important that CSEB members in aquatic sciences be engaged and speak up on regional topics related to water chemistry, aquatic and eco-toxicology, monitoring, aquatic environmental assessments, and so on.
